Tammye Raymer

As children we are led to believe life is a wonderful fairytale. When life turns out less than that, it can definitely lead to disappointment. I am sure you have heard the old saying when life gives you lemons make lemonade. But when life seems to offer more pain than joy it’s definitely hard to find the desire to want to continue on.

For me life wasn’t a pleasant journey, I lacked feeling valued or important. The one thing I had was the ability to smile hoping others would just smile and move on. As I just faded into the background. I sat quietly observing others hoping if no one saw me I would lessen my chances to be embarrassed.

Not knowing or understanding what God’s word said about me definitely set me up for failure. The lies the enemy spoke to me as a small child kept me from striving to be the woman God called me to be. I didn’t believe in myself or that I could be of use in anyone’s life.

What I didn’t realize until later in life was every battle I fought to win only gave me another tool. I saw how many of God’s children were hurting. I had compassion for the broken hearted. To help each and every one of them stand up and realize they had value and importance. Their lives mattered and that God had a plan for their life.

Each of us have a story the question is are you willing to share it in hopes of helping someone else.

Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Daniel 2:20-23 New International Version (NIV)
20 and said:“Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. 21 He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. 22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. 23 I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.”
